Medical Clinic Receptionist - Part Time

Summary of Responsibilities
Answers phones and schedules appointments
Greets patients, completion of registration forms, and gives instructions
Verifies insurance eligibility for all patients
Call patients for missed appointments and appointment reminders
Files and maintains necessary documents for clinic use
Prepares and types correspondence
Completes and processes forms, letters and referrals as instructed by the provider(s)
Maintains supplies and equipment
Completes tasks in Athena timely
Processes Missing Slips
Processes facsimiles timely
Collects payment for past and current services
Manages clinic till to ensure the cash on hand balances daily
Performs all opening and closing procedures
Ensures clinic is neat and tidy at all times
Calls in prescriptions to the pharmacy as instructed by the provider(s)
Completes prior authorizations as instructed by the provider(s)
Uses communication skills with appropriate medical terminology
Follows appropriate legal and ethical professional conduct
Performs other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and diagnosis
Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications
Knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures
Working knowledge of healthcare insurance preferred

Compensation
From $18.00 per hour DOE
